As a photographer, I know how important family portraits are and sometimes as photographers, we get busy and we forget that its important to also BE in photos. Ben (aka Dad) is a photographer and can you believe that day was the first time his gorgeous family has had family portraits done by another photographer? Oh how I wish they lived closer to me. Fall is my favorite time of year. The air is crisp. The leaves are changing and the colors are gorgeous. Fall is probably the busiest time of year for family portraits. Everyone wants the fall colors for their holiday cards that will soon be sent out. The Kambic family was a fun group to work with. Did I mention they’re a good-looking family too! Last week, I got to spend a beautiful afternoon near Missoula, Montana with one of the nicest people I know, Robert and his daughter, Jenna. It’s been so wonderful to watch Jenna grow from a chubby wide-eyed baby girl, to a energetic gap-toothed little girl. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Every time I am with them, I am amazed at how much love they show each other. She is definitely Daddy's little girl. I’m so happy they asked me to shoot these moments for them.

You know what I love about kids? They are going to do whatever it is, THEY want to do. You can ask for a smile but if they don’t want to give you one, they won’t. You can beg and plead with them and even bribe them, but if they don’t want to smile, they’re not going to..at least not without making you really work for it! I love photographing families...capturing the love and interactions between parents and children and even siblings. Awhile back, I photographed a family that I couldn't help but fall in love with. The love felt in this family can be seen in every photo I took. Meet Tom, Melissa, Gabriella & Jorge. This family was brought together by adoption. Gabriella and Jorge were adopted about three years ago from Guatemala. Adoption is very near and dear to me because my son is also ad
